TMJ/TMD

One of the newest fields in dentistry is TMJ/TMD. This is the study of the jaw, joints and the muscles that connect them all. It’s been found that a misaligned jaw can cause many physiological problems, including headaches, jaw pain, neck and shoulder pain, ringing in the ears, and clicking or popping sounds in the jaw joint.

There have been cases where chronic headaches and neck pain have been remedied with TMJ/TMD treatment practically overnight. Oftentimes these issues can be overlooked or misdiagnosed by traditional doctors, leaving patients without a solution. If you think you might have a TMJ disorder, ask yourself these questions:

Do you experience pain in your face or ears or have headaches for which your medical doctor has found no cause?
Do your ears feel muffled or clogged?
Does your jaw hurt or make clicking sounds when chewing?
Do you experience episodes where your jaw feels open or shut?
Do you fell that your upper and lower teeth don’t fit together like they usually do?
